Following is a summary in narrative:

We are pleased and honoured to learn that PFU alumnus, ASLGSC Past President, Dr. Lloyd Fernando has been conferred the honorary title (national honours) of Sri Lanka Sikhamani by the President in recognition of his long standing and dedicated service to the nation.

He is the current Program Director, Public Policy, Postgraduate Institute of Management at Sri Jayewardenapura University, Board Member of Gamani Corea Foundation and Governing Council Member of the Marga Institute. He was the Chairman of the Marga Institute from 1998 to 2006. Former positions are -Executive Director of Asian Development Bank, State Secretary, of the Ministry of Policy Planning and Implementation and Director General of National Planning Department.

Moreover, he is a distinguished member of the ASLGSC and a past president. He is also a product of PFU with a first-class honours MSc in Economics. He has earned his D Phil in Economic Development from the University of Sussex, UK.

Let us join together in congratulating Dr. Lloyd on conferment of the national award and wishing him good luck and good health.
